Williams Exercise and Testing Centre

The Williams Exercise and Testing Centre located in the Williams building is reserved for research participants and is closed to the general public. The Training Centre has a mixture of various aerobic machines, weight machines and free weights. There is a variety of testing equipment available to measure:

• Body composition with a DXA machine (Body Composition Suite)
• Bone quality with a Bone ultrasound
• Assessment of muscle size with a muscle ultrasound unit
• Blood collection to measure metabolic blood markers with a level 2 blood collection lab
• Heart rate and blood pressure
• Anthropometric measurements such as height, weight and waist circumference
• Functional ability through Seniors fitness testing
• Balance testing
• 1 rep max strength testing
