In memory of Dr. John Duncan Dewar

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. John Duncan Dewar, former dean (1977-1986) and Professor Emeritus of our college, on December 13, 2018.

Dr. John Duncan Dewar has a strong legacy in our college as a former dean (1977-1986) and long time faculty member. His guidance and leadership are spoken of with great respect and his research on sport history and Indigenous athletes continues to benefit future scholars through collections retained in the University Archives. Dr. Dewar’s influence continues to be felt and we are grateful for his place in College of Kinesiology and University of Saskatchewan history.

There is a brief obituary online. Out of respect for Dr. Dewar’s wishes, there will be no funeral.
