Sexism reaches all levels of sport and physical activity
Kinesiology faculty member, Dr. Louise Humbert, comments on gender inequalities within sports and physical activities.
Louise Humbert and Huskie Athletics athletic director, Basil Hughton, were given an opportunity to speak from their perspectives regarding the issues surrounding gender inequalities in sport (full text here). As a researcher, Louise has devoted much of her energy to exploring these very issues and the barriers to keeping girls and young women active and engaged in physical activity. This important topic is explored by many of our faculty and graduate student researchers.
