Research Interests
My main research areas include: 1) the adaptation of muscle and bone to exercise and nutritional interventions; 2) the effect of exercise and diet on risk factors for cardiovascular disease / metabolic syndrome; 3) the effects of low vs. high glycemic index carbohydrates on endurance performance in athletes. My research has involved a variety of populations including healthy young adults, older adults, and elite athletes.
